Aston, PA – The Colonial States Athletic Conference released their weekly reports and Player of the Week awards this afternoon. Three Highlanders were rewarded for their play last week by being named Honor Roll recipients.
Liz White (women's volleyball),
Payton Emerick (women's soccer), and
Rebecca Graber (women's tennis) each were named to the Honor Roll for their stellar play on their respective courts and fields.
Liz White – Women's Volleyball
White helped the Highlanders to their first CSAC victory since the 2014 season this past week with a 3-2 win over Centenary. In the match, White collected her second career double-double as she led the team with 21 assists and 14 digs. The freshman also collected five kills for a .500 hitting percentage. The five kills marks a career-high in kills in a single match.
Payton Emerick – Women's Soccer
Emerick did a little bit of everything this past week, helping the Highlanders to their first CSAC victory of the season. Emerick scored a goal in Cairn's 6-3 loss against Neumann in the middle of the week and then stepped between the pipes and made 12 saves in her first career start in goal against Keystone over the weekend. Emerick's 12 saves helped the Highlanders to a 1-0 shutout victory over the Giants. The dozen saves were the most in a shutout for a Cairn keeper since Joanna Reamer made 17 saves in a 4-0 shutout over King's College on Sept. 13, 2005.
Rebecca Graber – Women's Tennis
Graber was a perfect 6-0 on the week between singles and doubles play at the number one position. With her singles victory against Kean, Graber won her 33rd career singles match to break a tie with Katelynn Wilson for the most victories in Cairn women's tennis history. Graber finished her week with a career singles record of 34-6 (.850 win pct.) also the highest win percentage in program history. With the help of
Bianca Birney, Graber went 3-0 in doubles play and broke the program record for victories in doubles with her 22nd win.
Graber was also named to the CSAC honor Roll on Oct. 3.
