Cross Country: Highlanders Open 2022 Campaign at Rally at the Valley 5K

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. – The Cairn University women's and men's cross country teams embarked on their respective 2022 campaigns at the Rally at the Valley 5K meet hosted by the University of Valley Forge on Thursday evening.
 
For the women, the Highlanders were paced by freshman AyliGrace Munro (Bar Harbor, ME / Mount Desert Island HS) who finished runner-up in the 13-runner field in her first collegiate meet with a 5K time of 21:00 flat. Munro was followed by senior Isabella Palladino (Langhorne, PA / Homeschooled) who placed sixth with a time of 28:26, while sophomore Jeneba Koroma (Sharon Hill, PA / Christ Academy) placed one spot behind in seventh with a mark of 29:07. Junior Jordan Harvey (Chichester, PA / The Christian Academy) followed Koroma with an eighth-place slating of 29:35, while senior Madeline Chase (Apalachin, NY / Ross Corners Christian Academy) rounded out the top-five finishers for Cairn, placing ninth with a time of 31:32.
 
The men were led by freshman Titus Dingle (Catonsville, MD / Chapelgate Christian Academy) in his first college meet, earning a second-place mark in the 10-runner field with a 5K time of 19:20. Junior Isaiah Castellucci (Gloucester, MA / Landmark HS) had the second-best time for Cairn, placing seventh with a time of 22:02. Senior Tim Colgan (Port Jervis, NY / Homeschooled) crossed next for the Highlanders in eighth place with a time of 22:27, while junior Joseph Keeports (York, PA / Central York HS) collected a ninth-place finish of 22:59. Freshman George Sioukiouroglou rounded out the day for Cairn with a time of 34:09 in his first collegiate appearance.
 
The women's and men's cross country teams will be back on the course on Saturday, September 10 when they travel to Lebanon Valley College for the Dutchmen Invitational. The women will hit the course at 10:15 a.m. while the men are out of the starting gates starting at 11 a.m.
