VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Cairn University women's volleyball team had a program-record six team members receive All-Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) recognition, announced by the conference office on Monday.

Cairn's All-CSAC recipients were highlighted by fifth-year middle blocker Allison Barnes (Macungie, PA / Salem Christian), who was named the CSAC Player of the Year to go along with All-CSAC First Team recognition, as well as sixth-year Head Coach Whitney Seidel (6th Year, Cairn '17) who was named the CSAC Coach of the Year by a vote of the conferences' 10 Head Coaches. Barnes and Seidel are the first respective CSAC Player of the Year and Coach of the Year in program history.

Barnes earns her second consecutive All-CSAC First team citation after pacing the conference in nearly every statistical category in 2022. Barnes topped the CSAC in total kills (266), kills per set (3.33), hitting percentage (.334), total points (375.5) and points per set (4.69). Barnes finished second among CSAC adversaries in total blocks (54) and her 61 service aces tied for third in the conference. Barnes, a two-time CSAC Offensive Player of the week this season and Cairn's first ever All-CSAC First Team middle blocker, is the second two-time All-CSAC First Team honoree in program history (Brigid Shehan '15).

Seidel became the first CSAC Coach of the year in the history of the program after leading the Highlanders to 18 victories, a 7-2 conference record, and a second-consecutive conference semifinal appearance. Cairn's 18 wins are the most since 2013, and their second-seeding in the conference championship tournament is their best playoff mark since that same season. Cairn started the season by winning their first seven matches, the longest win-streak to start a season in program history.

Also earning All-CSAC First Team recognition was sophomore outside hitter Caroline Conrad (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School), her second-straight all-conference honor (honorable mention in 2021). Conrad, the youngest All-CSAC First Team selection in program history, finished third among CSAC counterparts with 208 total kills, while her 58 service aces slated fifth in the CSAC. On the defensive end, Conrad led the Highlanders back row with 325 total digs and 3.74 digs per set, the third-best mark among CSAC foes.

Grabbing All-CSAC Second Team recognition was junior setter Olivia Zepp (Westminster, MD / Francis Scott Key) and senior outside hitter Kali Burres-Cheeley (Wanaque, NJ / Hawthorne Christian). Zepp led the conference for the second-straight season with 706 total assists and 8.11 assists per set, and contributed 247 digs on the defensive end (eighth in the conference). Zepp became just the fourth player in program history to surpass 1,000 career assists earlier this season. Burres-Cheeley slated fourth among CSAC counterparts with 323 total digs and 3.71 digs per set, and posted 155 total kills on offense.

Rounding out Cairn's All-CSAC recipients was senior libero Lizzy Fay (Langhorne, PA / Neshaminy), who grabbed honorable mention status for the first time in her career. Fay commanded the libero spot all season for the Highlanders, scooping up 258 total digs and 2.97 digs per set across the 2022 season. Fay recorded a career-best 93.3% reception percentage this season.

As mentioned, the Highlanders concluded their 2022 campaign with one of the most successful seasons in program history. Cairn accumulated 18 total victories (most since 2013), posted a 7-2 record in conference play, recorded the longest win-streak to start a season in program history (seven matches) and made its second-straight conference semifinal appearance.
